Parent Brief

Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Parent Brief when you use parent-brief.com. Last updated September 10, 2026.

The service

Parent Brief writes one morning email from school and coach mail you choose to share with us. It lists dates, deadlines, and what you have to do, grouped by child when you have named kids in Settings. Family plans also include a Sunday look-ahead and a second adult on the same brief.

The brief is a helper. It is not a substitute for reading a message that is about a child's health, safety, or an emergency.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. Parent Brief is for parents and caregivers, not for children to sign up on their own. You are responsible for the account, the senders you watch, and anyone you invite as a second adult.

Accounts and mail

You can sign in with Google (name and email only) or a magic link. Connecting Gmail is a separate Google permission. If you connect it, we request read-only access, you pick senders, and we read those messages to write the brief. You can disconnect in Settings and revoke access in your Google account. If you forward instead, we only receive what you send to your private address on in.parent-brief.com.

How we handle school mail is spelled out on the privacy page. That page is part of this agreement. Use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Plans, trial, and canceling

Setup and today's brief do not require a card. The morning email and the archive are what the plan buys. Paid plans are Single ($39/year or $4.99/month) and Family ($69/year). A new paid plan starts with a 14-day trial with a card on file. After the trial, Stripe charges the plan you picked unless you cancel first.

Cancel or update your card in Billing → Manage billing (Stripe Customer Portal). Canceling stops future charges. It does not by itself delete your account or disconnect Gmail.

Year refund

If a date or a deadline shows up in a school email we're watching and it isn't in your brief, tell us and we'll refund the whole year. No partial credit, no argument. Write from the email on your account and tell us which watched sender and which date or deadline was missing. This refund is the remedy for that miss. It does not cover mail from a sender you were not watching, coach texts, Remind, Band, GroupMe, or anything that never arrived in the mail we can see.

Acceptable use

Use Parent Brief only for mail you are allowed to share. Do not connect someone else's mailbox without their permission, try to break into the service, or use it to collect or sell other people's mail. We may suspend an account that is abused or that puts other users at risk.

Availability

We aim to send the brief by 6:00am in the timezone on your account. Mail, Google, Stripe, and our own systems can fail. If the service is down, we will resume when we can. We may change features, prices, or these terms; the current version lives on this page.

Liability

Except for the year refund above, Parent Brief is provided as-is. We are not liable for missed school events, lost tuition, or other damages beyond what you paid us in the prior twelve months, to the extent the law allows. Some places do not allow these limits.
